For Love of Nature
Nine Oregon Students & Four California Artists explore the power of nature to heal, enliven and inspire with painting, drawing, photography & sculpture. Students reveal how daunting it is to inherit the environment in its present state and how motivated they feel to make changes.
Then exhibit re-opens for final showings during Hot Air Balloon Festival.September 18-20. See Details Below.

Sponge Painting Cloudscapes and Other Natural Features:
A Class for both Artists and Non Artists
Mel's current works, which he calls The Language of Clouds, are created with a simple kitchen sponge and a deliberately limited palette.
Class includes a Full Demonstration.

Mel Jackson's Cloudscape with Gondola
Mel's work is less about executing a predetermined image and more about discovery. Loose gestures dissolve into simple passages of light, balancing spontaneity with purpose.
To date, we have held 65 events, including artist talks, poetry readings, rock and blues concerts and more.
Open Sky Gallery showcases artists, writers and musicians who have risen above trauma through their use of the Arts.

Portrait Painting Demonstration
Saturday, November 22nd
2:00 pm (Doors open at 1:00 pm)
with Acclaimed Teaching Artist Chuck Prudhomme of Redding
A rare opportunity to watch and learn from a masterful teacher. Prudhomme will begin & complete an oil painting portrait right before our eyes. Chuck will also share parts of his fascinating life as a Vietnam helicopter pilot and growing up in Africa.
One audience member will pose and take home their own Prudhomme painted portrait!
Wine & appetizers will be served.

(1) His decades-long artistic journey with a camera
(2) Stories his Dad, Dr. Dick MacDonald shared of his days practicing medicine at Soledad Prison.
